Commonly Asked Questions
Can Can I pay my fees by installments?
Yes! Your initial deposit secures your place in the training program. The balance of course fees are due one month prior to the beginning of the face-to-face section of the course. You can also make an entire payment for the course at the time of registration.
Are there multiple entry points to training programs during the year (versus a rigid time line)?
Yes! As most participants are actively working in the field, there are various entry points over the year, including summer intensives.
Are class sizes small? Can I take some portions of programs on-line to reduce travel time and costs?
Yes! To meet training/certification standards, all classes are small (i.e., 15-30) and highly experiential. Many courses now offer the equivalent of 7 hours of accredited training on-line. The balance of course time occurs through face-to-face contact using experiential training methods.
Are the course fees inclusive of training materials?
Yes! All participants receive an extensive binder of materials/handouts. However, there are the normal extra costs associated with this type of program; recommended textbooks, individual clinical supervision, travel and accommodation.
Can I access supervision while I attend programs?
Yes! There are various supervision modalities available, including telephone/distance and video/group supervision. You can organize individual supervision while attending courses. The Green & Red Stream Programs provide built-in group supervision hours, as do certain Certificate Programs.
Do I have to be in a work setting to take these courses?
Yes & No! Participants involved in the Green and Red stream programs need access to a child-focused therapeutic environment to accumulate practice hours. However, you may consider beginning on a pathway toward Certification, through the Yellow Stream programs while you organize to set up a practice site.
What if I need support during the program?
We are there to assist you! Please note that students often find it necessary to deal with personal issues as a result of experiential course work. While qualified on-site therapeutic resources are available should the need for support arise, RMPTI reserves the right to screen and/or re-direct candidates to other training/development opportunities should it appear that higher levels of support are required than those typically provided in a clinical training program. In certain cases, participants may be asked to undertake therapy prior to program re-admission.
Will the course be taught by a variety of experienced practitioners who offer specialized training ?
Yes! The training faculty consists of experienced practitioners, each with a recognized area of specialization.
