Participants dedicated 4 on-site days at Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Institute and one on-line learning day to the study of sandplay. The unique approach to this course is that participants focus on developmental issues and learn about the differences between working with young children, middle school aged children and adolescents and adults with the sandplay approach. Participants enjoyed experiential exercises and were part of a number of sandplay studies. Those in attendance learned about what to look for and how to make sense of the sandplay process.

2012 CERTIFICATE IN SANDPLAY - IRELAND
Held at the Children's Therapy Center in Ireland, trained play therapists joined together to study for 4 days. Participants were exposed to sandplay from a developmental perspective. The program covered the different ways to work with children aged 4-7, 8-11 and 12-18 in sand. Both Jungian and play therapy principles were emphasized. Participants were able to experience a number of different approaches to working with children. As part of the program, many case studies were provided along with experiential self-reflective opportunities.

Congratulations to the 2012 Sandplay Training Group in Calgary! Your participation and input was an invaluable part of the training.
Participants went away with a deepened knowledge and experience of sandplay from a developmental perspective. The group designed their ending sandtray of their "Experience" of sandplay. All participants added a word at the end that reflected their feeling of the collaborative scene. Best wishes to you all as you work with children, adolescents and adults in sandplay in the future.
